Our Story — Where It All Began
Eudaimonia is more than a cycling tour. It’s a community. A journey. A way to explore Tasmania at a slower, more meaningful pace.”
Eudaimonia didn’t start with a grand plan. Instead, it was a dream shaped by passion, intuition and love for riding — built slowly, deliberately, brick by brick.
From the early days, we envisioned something different: not just tours, but meaningful experiences. We wanted to connect riders with the land, with local communities, and with each other. We believed exploration shouldn’t always be about speed or distance — sometimes it’s about slowing down, soaking in the scenery, and letting the ride transform you.
What began as a simple love for cycling through Tasmania’s quiet roads and wild corners has grown into something far more: a community, a movement, and a way of traveling that honours the spirit of place, sustainability and shared adventure.
Our Mission & Philosophy
At Eudaimonia, we exist to offer more than just a cycling tour. We aim to create experiences that are:
Authentic & grounded — real routes, real landscapes, real people.
Intentional & unhurried — we invite you to ride slow, connect with place, rest deeply, and rediscover what “travel” really means.
Inclusive & welcoming — everyone’s welcome here. You don’t have to be fast or fancy; you just need heart.
Purpose‑driven — our rides and tours support local communities, celebrate regional Tasmania, and contribute to a more meaningful, mindful way of travelling.
Whether you’re here to challenge yourself, reconnect with nature, meet kindred spirits, or simply reset — Eudaimonia is a space for you.
Why We’re Different
Local Expertise & Intimate Groups — our tours are guided by people who love lutruwita/Tasmania for all it is. We keep group sizes small so every ride feels personal.
All‑Inclusive, Thoughtfully Curated Experiences — accommodation, meals, support, logistics — we handle the details so you can focus on the ride, the landscapes and the connections.
Sustainable & Community‑Focused Travel — we believe in supporting regional towns, local businesses, and a tourism model that honours place and people.
A Cycling Community That Welcomes Everyone — speed and performance aren’t the goal. Heart, curiosity, kindness and respect for the land are.
Recognition & What It Means
We are deeply honoured to share that in 2025, Eudaimonia — through our founder Sofia Tsamassiros — received the Tourism Minister’s Young Achiever Award.
This recognition is more than an accolade — it validates the belief that tourism doesn’t have to be flashy or high‑volume to matter. It shows that a vision rooted in respect for place, community and slow, meaningful exploration can resonate deeply, and that there is power in building something authentic, intentional and human.
We carry that honour humbly — as a reminder of why we started, and what we strive for every day.
Meet the Team
Sofia Tsamassiros – Founder & Lead Guide
Sofia is the heart and vision behind Eudaimonia Tasmanian Cycling Tours. From the very beginning, she has approached cycling and adventure with curiosity, purpose, and a belief that travel should be meaningful, human, and grounded in place.
She has never built Eudaimonia in a “normal” way — every tour, ride, and community initiative has grown organically, brick by brick, as the timing felt right. Her passion lies in creating spaces where riders can slow down, reconnect with themselves and the land, and form real connections with fellow adventurers.
In 2025, Sofia was honoured to receive the Tasmanian Young Achiever Award, a recognition of her dedication to building a cycling community that is authentic, inclusive, and sustainable. She brings this same energy, creativity, and care to every tour, community ride, and project at Eudaimonia.
When she’s not leading rides, Sofia can usually be found exploring Tasmania’s quiet roads, regional towns, and local bakeries on two wheels — always chasing the next adventure and the next meaningful experience to share with the community.
Roisin (Ro) – Ride Leader & Community Builder
Ro joins the Eudaimonia team as a passionate advocate for meaningful, human-centered cycling experiences. She brings energy, curiosity, and her own unique quirks to everything she does, helping guide the growth and direction of the Eudaimonia community.
She leads our weekly Femme Friday rides and monthly Queers & Gears rides, and will be joining us on several tours this season. Ro believes in the power of community rides to connect people — to each other, to place, and to themselves — and in creating spaces where every rider feels welcome and supported.
When she’s not guiding a ride, you’ll often find Ro exploring lutruwita/Tasmania on a bikepacking mission, chasing quiet roads, big views, and (most importantly) the best local bakeries along the way.
Her heart, energy, and love for adventure make her a perfect fit for Eudaimonia’s mission: to showcase Tasmania slowly, intentionally, and authentically. We’re thrilled to have her as part of our team.
Andy (@fameandspear) – Guide & Photographer
Andy’s love for capturing moments on two wheels has been a part of Eudaimonia almost from the very beginning. Sofia first followed his work in Adelaide, where his photographs stood out for their heart, atmosphere, and the subtle way they told a story — every shot reflecting passion, connection, and care.
When Andy and Caz moved to Hobart in 2021, it was clear they would become an integral part of the Eudaimonia journey. Andy brings his quiet, thoughtful energy to every tour, capturing the essence of Tasmania, the spirit of the ride, and the people who make it special.
Most of the images you see on our website and social media are Andy’s, and they carry the same warmth, authenticity, and softness that he brings to guiding. Having him on tour is always an honour, and his presence elevates every experience for the riders and the team alike.
Caz – Flora & Fauna Expert
Caz is Eudaimonia’s resident flora and fauna extraordinaire. Her passion for Tasmania’s plants, animals, and natural environment is infectious — being on tour with her is like having a walking encyclopedia of the island’s wild wonders. Sofia often jokes that she’s learned countless plant facts simply through osmosis from Caz, but there’s no question she’s the team’s go-to person for anything nature-related on tour.
Originally a professional photographer, Caz also played a pivotal role behind the lens, teaching Andy how to capture the perfect shot (she takes a pretty amazing photo herself!). Her combination of environmental expertise, creativity, and boundless curiosity brings depth and richness to every ride, helping guests see Tasmania in a whole new way.
