Bikepacking Trips

Quarterly catch ups and team building

Our quarterly bikepacking trips are very chill and just a way to engage with our community. Whether you’re new to bikepacking and want the support of others to feel comfortable to explore on your own, or a seasoned bikepacker, we want to create a space to get likeminded people together and explore our backyard in a relaxed and supported environment.

When: Once every three months

Where: Location will change each trip

Who: Riders of all abilities!

What: A casual bikepacking trip for people of all abilities. We will set the route and location. Sometimes there will be an option of either camping or paid accommodation to keep things accessible to a greater number of people.

How it works: We will set a location and route, but it is up to you to purchase your own food, bring your own supplies and organise your own accommodation (if you wish to have paid accommodation). We will of course be here to assist you in making all of the required plans, however this is not a fully supported tour, simply a casual get together to help support people in gaining the confidence to create their own adventures (if you wish to do so!).

20th - 21th September

We’re excited to have organised our next bikepacking weekender in Evandale!

Location: Evandale, Tasmania

How you partake in the weekend is completely up to you! We have specifically designed this trip so you can have a big weekend on the bike, or just enjoy the quaint country town that is Evandale.

You can either camp or purchase accommodation (there are multiple airbnb’s in town).

Time: Depends on whether you’re there for a chill weekend or an epic one!

Accommodation: You can choose to either camp or book accommodation yourself (or with a mate).

🌿 Want to stay at Leighton House with us?

We’re putting the feelers out for anyone keen to stay together at the stunning Leighton House in Evandale. It’s the perfect base to rest, reset and sneak in some contrast therapy — sauna, cold plunge, chill. (You know I love an excuse for it!)

Here’s the plan:

  • Stay two nights (Friday + Saturday)

  • Sauna access + beautiful shared accommodation

  • Cost: $450 per person (equal split of accommodation cost)

  • We need 9 riders total to lock it in (we can do with less, however it will cost more per person).

Interested? Shoot us an email and let us know ASAP — no commitment yet, we’re just getting a crew together to see if we can make it happen. 🙌 We won’t take payment until it’s confirmed. We need to confirm before the 1st August.

Routes

Day 0

For those that want to do the epic route on Saturday, we suggest coming up the night before so we can get an early start. This is not compulsory, however there will be a few of us already up there… and maybe we might go for a little shakeout ride excited for the weekend ahead.

Day 1

Today can either be a super epic, or a super chill day.

Epic Option: For those keen for an epic adventure, we’re going to be heading up Mount Barrow (Ben Lomond’s better looking cousin) and then follow a few backroads back into Evandale. We’re going to get a relatively early start and depart Evandale at 7am as this route can catch up to you pretty quickly. We recommend a gravel bike for this option.

130km, 2,700m | Strava Route (epic)

Chill Option: For those that are just keen on a weekend away to enjoy the quiet backroads, this option is for you. A later start time 9am, to give riders time to drive to the start location if travelling on the day. You’ll head into Launceston for a compulsory stop at Brad + Butter and then back via the beautiful backroads of White Hills. Any bike!

60km, 650m | Strava Route (chill)

The pub meal and hanging out at the end of the day will be just as important as the ride itself!

Day 2

We’re going to stick with the theme of either having a chill weekend or an epic one.

Epic Option: For those keen for an epic adventure, we’re going to be heading up the infamous Ben Lomond (and Jacobs Ladder). This climb needs no introduction. It’s epic and well worth the effort to get to the top. Again, we’re going to get a relatively early start and depart Evandale at 7am so that people can head off relatively early to get back home.

100km, 2,100m | Strava Route (epic)

Chill Option: The crew heading out on an easier cruise will head off a bit later. The goal will be to intersect with the epic crew around 11:30am at Dedington rd and then cruise on back to Evandale as a group.

55km, 750m | Strava Route (chill)

Previous Trips

5th & 6th April

Our first little bikepacking weekender test run. We’re going to be using this trip as a bit of a test of how we want these trips to work, but figured we have to start somewhere. So here we are starting!

Location: River Run Lodge, Strathblane

It is up to you whether you want to drive to Strathblane or ride from home. We will officially start from River Run Lodge.

Time: 10am for a 10:30am departure.

Accommodation: You can choose to either camp or have a bed in shared accommodation at River Run Lodge. You can choose to book accommodation in the booking form.

Routes

Day 1

We’re going to meet everyone at River Run lodge and then embark on an adventure down to Cockle Creek (the southern most road in Australia!). Dependant on how adventurous you want to be, you have the option of riding there to meet us or simply driving to Strathblane to start your adventure from there.

The pub meal and hanging out by the fire at the end of the day will be just as important as the ride itself!

Details: 75km, 1,200m

Day 2

We’ll jump on the bikes for a shorter ride down to Southport. If we’re lucky, we might even get a swim! We’ll keep this day slightly shorter so that people can get back home and ready for the week ahead… but we definitely encourage people to make a stop at Geeveston for Masaaki sushi!

14th & 15th June

We’re excited to have organised our next bikepacking weekender on Bruny Island!

Location: Alonnah, Bruny Island.

How you partake in the weekend is completely up to you! We have specifically designed this trip so you can have a big weekend on the bike, or something small. We will meet everyone at the kettering ferry at 10am and head onto Bruny from there, riding for lunch at Izzy Bar. We’ll head to Alonnah where you can either camp or purchase accommodation (either at the hotel or close by). From there you will have the option to join us for a jaunt down to the lighthouse, or simply put your feet up and hang out!

It is up to you whether you want to drive to Kettering or ride from home. We will officially start from Kettering.

Time: In Kettering before 10am to catch the 10am ferry.

Accommodation: You can choose to either camp or book accommodation yourself (or with a mate).

Routes

Day 1

We’re going to meet everyone in Kettering in time to catch the 10am ferry across to Bruny Island. Dependant on how adventurous you want to be, you can ride there from Hobart, or simply drive and park your car close by. We’re going to make our way straight down the neck in time for lunch (and pizza) at Izzy Bar! Then it will be up to you to either setup camp at Alonnah or join us for a jaunt down to the Lighthouse, before returning to Alonnah for dinner.

The pub meal and hanging out at the end of the day will be just as important as the ride itself!
