Slow Down. Reflect. Reset – A Winter Cycling Retreat
1 May – 31 July | Private bookings only | Huon Valley, Tasmania
Winter in Tasmania isn’t something to hide from. Down here, we don’t flee the season — we lean into it. We turn up the warmth, sharpen the senses, and let the stillness of shorter days become the reset we didn’t know we needed.
This is your invitation to become a winter person.
Over three immersive days in the Huon Valley, we’ll combine slow, mindful cycling with sensory, soul-level experiences designed to help you clear the noise, reconnect with yourself, and step into the second half of the year with clarity and intention.
We include a restorative breathwork and contrast therapy session at the stunning Woodland Bay Retreat, surrounded by nature. Whether you're here for the stillness or the sweat, this ride is about reconnecting — with Tasmania, with others, and with yourself.
What to Expect
Mornings begin with the quiet sound of tyres rolling beneath you — no traffic, no rush, just crisp air, blue winter skies and the deep stillness of the valley. You’ll ride past rolling farmland, coastline and orchard country as woodsmoke hangs in the air and winter light settles gently across the hills.
Afternoons are where the magic really hits.
Heat. Cold. Breath. Stillness.
Step into a timber sauna and feel the heat melt tension from your body. Then brace for the sharp, exhilarating bite of a cold plunge — that jolt of electricity that makes you feel unmistakably alive.
From there: guided breathwork, time for deep reflection, journaling and space to reset the direction of your year. Not from urgency — but from awareness.
Evenings are unapologetically cosy:
local food, winter produce, good company, and the kind of conversation that can only happen when the world outside has gone dark and quiet.

Dates
Bookable for start dates between 1 May and 31 July.

We collect you from Hobart and take a scenic drive south into the Huon Valley. On arrival in Cygnet, we’ll roll out for a gentle shake-out ride — just enough to wake up the legs, settle the mind and begin arriving in the present moment.
From here, you’ll check into the beautiful Woodland Bay Retreat, where the shift into winter mode truly begins. We’ll guide an introduction to the nervous system, followed by breathwork and a contrast therapy session — hot sauna, cold plunge, deep exhale.
It’s the perfect way to switch off from the noise and arrive fully in your retreat. When you emerge warm, grounded and expanded, dinner will be waiting.
Slow. Simple. Nourishing from the first evening.
-
This is your deep immersion day. After breakfast we’ll head out on a longer, mindful ride through Cygnet and the surrounding countryside — rolling farmland, winter light, quiet roads and sweeping water views.
The afternoon invites you to slow down again. Return to Woodland Bay for an optional guided meditation and journaling session — time to reflect on life, goals, and what you want the rest of the year to look and feel like.
Evening is your own: curl up, read, rest, share stories, or simply listen to the silence outside.
-
We finish with a shorter morning ride to soak up the last sensations of the Huon Valley at winter pace.
Afterward, we’ll enjoy lunch together in Cygnet before we return to Hobart — refreshed, reset and ready for whatever comes next.
For those wanting a bigger challenge, there’s an optional extension: ride back to Hobart via kunanyi / Mount Wellington for a memorable finish to your winter journey.
However you choose to close the retreat, you’ll leave with calm in the body, clarity in the mind, and a different relationship with winter.
Why Winter?
Because winter in Tasmania brings out something different — something raw, real and beautifully unhurried. The colours get deeper, the landscape gets quieter, and clarity comes easier.
While the rest of Australia avoids winter, Tasmanians know it’s when the world becomes alive in a different way.
Join us, and you might discover you’re a winter person too.
Book now and give yourself the gift of a gentler, more meaningful start to the second half of the year.
