Summit Solstice 4.0

This was the first year we made the event somewhat official (ie. actually made a public announcement - not just our mates) and we are so stoked with the number of people that got involved. There were are number of riders who left a bit earlier and some who left a bit later (at a more reasonable hour). Regardless, we were absolutely stoked with the participation and the amount of excitement seeing so many people ride their bike up to the top of Mount Wellington!

As should be expected riding to the top of the mountain… it was cold. And apparently the hill is non relenting. Who knew? But the achievement of making it to the top, especially knowing you have raced the rising sun, makes the effort well worth it!

… then of course it was coffee time. Because 3am is a ridiculous hour to have woken up.
