A Kingston loop is a great start to exploring nipaluna/Hobart. It takes you out of Hobart along the Channel Highway bike shoulder, following the Derwent River the whole way out to Kingston. It will take you from the city centre, to the beach, where you can enjoy a coffee mid ride, or simply come straight back. With one hill, Bonnet Hill, in the way, a Kingston loop is considered as flat as it gets in these parts!
A relaxed out-and-back ride to Kingston Beach that offers smooth roads, ocean views, and a coffee stop worth turning pedals for. Perfect for a spin before work or an easy weekend cruise, this is a ride that welcomes all.
Ride Notes
Best ridden early morning or late afternoon to beat school and work traffic.
Great post-ride coffee spots at Kingston Beach — our pick: Maxie Coffee
Add optional laps around the Kingston foreshore if you want a few more km.

This is the route we send new community members on when they just want to get out and move. It’s low stress, high reward, and a stunning reminder that riding doesn’t always need to be epic to be beautiful.
