A Kingston loop is a great start to exploring nipaluna/Hobart. It takes you out of Hobart along the Channel Highway bike shoulder, following the Derwent River the whole way out to Kingston. It will take you from the city centre, to the beach, where you can enjoy a coffee mid ride, or simply come straight back. With one hill, Bonnet Hill, in the way, a Kingston loop is considered as flat as it gets in these parts!

How Long is this ride?

This ride is 32km in distance. Hobartians usually consider this our ‘recovery ride’. Ie. it is one of the flatter options we have locally, as such, it is a good place to start to get an idea of the terrain you may encounter in nipaluna/Hobart.

Difficulty

All rides are designed to showcase some of our favourite parts of our doorstep, which generally involves a number of hills. As such we recommend you have some form of bike experience to give these rides a go… and come with your best climbing legs (or at least a good attitude).

This is the easiest ride we have on our list.

Suggested Finish Locations:

Coffee: Area2BE post ride or have a mid ride coffee at Maxie

Alcohol, beers and burgers: We recommend making a post ride recovery stop at Preachers if you’re that way inclined.
