The Springdale loop takes you up over Collinsvale and into the beautiful Myrtle forest surrounding Springdale. Like most Tassie routes, this one is not for the faint hearted, locally known as the ‘triple crown’, this route is 20km of straight up and down. The roads however are nice and quiet, so it a beautiful ride to enjoy the scenery and leave the city behind.

Route Overview

The Springdale Loop is a punchy after-work favourite — short in distance but big in elevation. With its twisting roads and quiet atmosphere, this ride is a go-to for locals chasing quick climbs and minimal traffic.

Ride Notes

  • Best ridden clockwise for the smoothest gradient profile.

  • Expect a few steep pitches, especially near the top of Springdale Road.

  • Use lights in low visibility — roads are narrow and tree-lined.

  • Combine with Leslie Vale or Longley if you want to extend the ride.

Local Insight

This one’s for those days you don’t have much time, but still want to feel like you’ve had a solid ride. Expect a couple of lung-burners, followed by that satisfying "legs-earned-it" descent to the finish.
